  • When I was a student at Ohio University, I lived in a four-story dorm. Some of the more creative guys would "grow" icicles by hanging wire out the window and letting water drip down it.

    They were told to knock it off when the dorm admin envisioned some passerby being skewered by a two-story icicle weighing several hundred pounds.

    Darned spoilsports.
