News and Events of Interest to Constituents
*With the domestic economy being a consistent concern, I thought you might be interested in labor statistics for our Southeast region. A report titled "Missouri Real Time Labor Market Summary" issued by the Missouri Department of Economic Development and its Economic Research and Information Center summarized the statistics for the Southeast region. You can read the summary online at: www.missourieconomy.org and look for the "Missouri Real Time Labor Market Summary".
*Autumn is such a wonderful time of year to absorb foliage colors; enjoy happy, familial scenes; and smell the aromas of cider and home-baked pies. You can experience all of this and much more Saturday, October 13, 9 am to 4 pm at the annual Saxon Lutheran Memorial Fall Festival.
*Have you pledged to not text and drive? AT & T has developed a nationwide campaign to remind Americans of the potential dangers of this all too pervasive habit whether among teens or adults. You will want to not only view the video called "Text While Driving" but will want to pass it along to your family & friends. Go to www.itcanwait.com for information and to watch several videos.
If this video doesn't convince you that texting while driving is dangerous then nothing will. If you're convinced you can take a pledge by clicking on either the dedicate your pledge or pledge now areas (see first web view shot) to submit your pledge not to text while driving. You can also stop by a local AT&T store to pick up a sticker to help get the word out.
