Nov. 19, 1957 Southeast Missourian
Two days of rainfall in Cape County and the district put streams out of their banks and caused them to overflow onto lowlands and into communities along their courses. Typical is this high water scene at Burfordville, looking east to the center background at the old mill and covered bridge over Big Whitewater. In the foreground the porch of a building is about to be flooded and a tractor awaits to pull out vehicles which might venture into the flood and stall. (G.D. Fronabarger photo)
Here is a previous blog with an earlier photo of flooding at the Bollinger Mill.
