Identification for a growing city, some 900 street name plates are shown laid out on the floor of a Street Department garage as they are paired to be installed as four-way markers at street intersections in Cape Girardeau. Most of them are for new streets heretofore not permanently marked. Most of the standards to carry the markers have been erected and crews will begin this week to install the plates. Crew members, from the left, in the background, are Frank York, L.A. White, G.C. Joyce, R.V. Banfield, Bob Pender, Earl Jones, John Eldridge, street superintendent; and City Commissioner Max Stovall.
