Forty Years Strong
Forty years...and counting! What an awesome statement the success of the Jaycee Toybox and Christmas for the Elderly projects makes for our community. The generosity of individuals and businesses is nothing short of amazing! In a time when need is great for some and blessings in abundance for others - it is wonderful to see efforts made during the holiday season to find balance for the less fortunate.
There are so many that we need to thank - thank you to Kidds Convenience store, Dominos Pizza, Beef O Brady's, Subway, Schnucks, and Kohlfeld Distributing for your generous donations to feed our Santas on delivery night. We appreciate year after year the willingness of Howard Kinder to help map out delivery routes, Jeff Maurer for the use of storage area, the River City Rodders for their donation of bikes, Cape Auto Pool for supplying Santa's sleigh for his delivery, the Department of Health and Senior Services and the Salvation Army for your help in applications, and the Southeast Missourian for their continued partnership in this project. Additionally, we thank Mr. John Blattner and Martha Dodson for providing us with a workshop to fill Santa's list, Terri and Cindy McDowell, along with the Discovery Playhouse, for their work on the Kim McDowell Toybox Run, Ellis Battery for their donation to power-up our toys, as well as, River Radio and KFVS for helping us share our story. We could not complete our energies without the support of area businesses that open up their doors to accept donations in the name of the Jaycee Toybox. And finally -- we thank each and every business and individual that came out in the name of the Jaycee Christmas projects with gifts or monetary donations to make this year a success. If I have forgotten someone, please forgive me. The list of those involved in a project to service over 410 families and 45 Elderly in our community is overwhelming and you do not go unnoticed or unappreciated.
Thank you so very much for showering us with your gifts to share with others and we wish everyone Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
