Medical Bills and Poor Housing Equals Struggling Families
After spending six months in the hospital, sitting by her child's side while she recovered from illness, Sierra is trying to recover from time missed at work and the accumulation of numerous medical bills. Currently going through a divorce, she worries about Christmas this year for her two children. Despite the difficulties of the past year, they still hope for a joyous holiday season, and for children, that includes Santa! Cara, age 10, loves Tinkerbell and enjoys listening to music. Trinity, age 6, enjoys princess themed toys, Barbies, and puzzles. Two special little ladies with a love for all things "girlie", thank you for bringing Christmas to their home!
Ms. S suffers from high blood pressure and vascular problems which affect her mobility. Her limited ability to function independently with self-care and day to day living mean long-term health services. Her home is greatly in need of repairing and the added cost of maintaining suitable living conditions results in difficulties making ends meet. She lives alone with a dog, which provides her with companionship throughout the day. Ms. S needs flannel pajamas, a long robe (size L), and (size 7) house shoes to wear around the house as her home health care workers come in and out for daily therapy. A large coat, sheets and a bedspread to keep her warm during the winter months would be a wonderful gift for her holiday. Her dog, "Apricot", needs food and toys and she would love to see him included in this holiday giving. Growing old is difficult, especially with no family around for care, this holiday season, we can become a family for Ms. S and support her needs.
