AND THE DIRECTOR IS.......
River City Players last production of the year is coming soon and you need to meet the director of 'First Things First' by Derek Benfield. Joe Reed has taken on the task of directing this last show of the season for RCP. Joe is no stranger to theatre or our group River City Players. Joe is excited to direct his first show for the Players. Joe has been an active member of RCP since 2004. He first started out helping backstage and running the light and sound board for shows before moving on to acting. He has appeared on-stage in 'Harvey,' 'It Runs in the Family," 'Barefoot in the Park,'Let's Murder Marsha,' and 'Getting Sara Married.' He has received two Abbott Awards for his roles in 'When the Reaper Calls' and 'The Crazy Time.' He was also awarded the President's Choice Award at last years Abbotts. He has co-directed for two shows, 'Make Me a Match' and 'Panic.' Joe is the current Vice President of River City Players. He is proud to be a member of River City Players and hopes he can help the organization grow and prosper. A love of the theatre and drama was instilled in Joe by his mother (Dede Reed), aunt (Karen Brown) and grandmother (Loiselle Ellis). He is proud to carry on their theatrical tradition. Joe works at the oldest pharmacy in Cape, Broadway Prescription Shop where he is a Certified Pharmacy Technician. He is an alumni of Southeast Missouri State University. If you are interested in seeing the magic a director can do then please mark your calendars now to attend. Our opening night is November 4 which is a dinner show followed by November 5,11,12 also dinner shows. If you are interested in the show only that date is Thursday, November 10.
