Inside on a Very Nice Day
(This is an older post originally written in May; I find it ironic that I state Angel is digging for China, which is where her family lives and teaches.)
The dogs and I haven't been inside ALL day long but a perfect storm of leaping, digging, and tree climbing dogs keeps multiples of them inside more than I would like.
ANGEL aka the Devil Dog
Angel was good and not digging out till this week. Too much soft earth, some dog moved a concrete block and boom, she is out heading for China in the middle of a stand of donated 6 ft chain link fence panels. Two ways I know where she is:
- She's barking. Angel barks while she digs. Maybe it's a motivational thing.
- Ellie Mae Bloodhound aka Big Momma is rhythmically barking, which tells me someone is amiss. She watches Angel.
When I go get her, she backs out of the hole and seems very apologetic, which is totally deceptive. Angel would prefer to just keep digging. I need to hire her out to Dig Right.
LEAPING TO FREEDOM
Sigh. I have a wonderful dog (well, baby) gate with only vertical bars so dogs and babies can't climb it, allegedly, and till this week, it worked perfectly. Flossie, temporary foster Beagle who lost an eye to secondary glaucoma and then was spayed, is feeling VERY well. She is small but mighty, leaping to the top of the gate to fling herself over.
Yesterday morning she greeted me in the driveway when I came home from work. So, I kenneled her last night.
THIS morning, Rosie, adopted half blind Rat Terrier, greets me as I drive in and later, I watch her imitate Flossie by going over the gate, too. If I am outside with them, they are fine. However, all bets are now off when I am not home. Rosie is TINY. Her name should be Tigger....
