Watch and Learn

As you know, I enjoy observing the dogs here at Silverwalk - or wherever. I have some observations to share:
- Molly T. Beagle, she who was abandoned in her backyard with her Basset companion, loves tennis balls; she doesn't like them, she LOVES them. Brand new ones get seasoned - chewed on, the covering pulled up and out - before they are deemed ready for play. Molly is not afraid of feet, hence I am able to kick her balls away from us so she can play hockey goalie. She is a pretty awesome wee girl.
- Even Farrah, the shy dog who loves to go on walks but not get in the car, jumped in today after 1) her microchip implantation, 2) nails trimmed and 3) lovely bath at Busch Pet Products. She just wanted "outa here!" badly enough, even the car was a good thing. I found out today, too, if we approach the car from the back, she gets closer and more comfortable than from the side.
- Leon Redbone, wonder puppy, devised his own feeding routine. He quietly lays down next to the little ones in their crates (Seymour, Margie, Danny and Sheila) patiently waiting for me to finish filling food bowls. When I signal him, he bounds for his crate, zooms in and is rewarded by getting his food first. Pretty smart for a youngster.
