Twinkle and Storms
Twinkle Toes
Yesterday, I took Twinkle Toes to St. Louis to meet his transport. At this time, he is in Kansas City (thanks to ALL who responded with offers of help) and will go to CO on the 27th. As I approached St. Louis yesterday about 1130, the sky was darkening, filled with deep, dark clouds - it was like the middle of the night. As I traveled on I-270, the rain and hail pelted us. No one had any difficulty staying under the speed limit since we couldn't see nor drive well enough to go faster....and I, for one, did not want to, even though I had people to meet - we would arrive safely! Twinkle was in a crate next to me in the passenger seat. The crate was seat belted so we were both secure. By the time we got to I-40, the storm had passed and did not return until last night - and,as I checked the paper and iGoogle this morning, with a tornado! Thank God no one was really injured though it sounds like many came close.
The storms this weekend put me in mind of the phrase in the Bible, after Jesus had died on the cross, how "the veil of the temple was rent." It was not torn from the bottom up as a person might do - it was torn from the top down! There was no more barrier between God and man, now that the Son had given His life for His friends, enemies and everyone in between.
"It is finished"
Be safe this weekend. Remember you are not alone - ever. I will be flood watching; am furiously doing laundry to get my basement floor cleared just in case. Today is a solemn day - tomorrow we feast and celebrate! Something to consider: this year, all Easters fall into this week and this same Sunday - Eastern, Orthodox, Western - as does Passover, which is not over till the 26th. Wow.
