Beagling at Home and for the Holidays
Betty Boop Todd
I was up at 5:15 AM this morning, a rare occurrence here at Silverwalk. I showered and got myself ready for breakfast, then let the dogs out. Well, most of them - little Betty Boop came to the door, stuck her nose outside in the not quite frosty air. The moon was still out, filtered lightly by high thin clouds sprinkled with stars. Betty plainly thought we were crazy as she withdrew back into the hall. I left the dogs outside and went in to see Betty climbing back up onto her couch. I had meetings at the hospital to attend and some errands to complete, one of which had been riding in my purse for two weeks. By the time I got home, the sun was out, the air still had a cool edge to it (as it should), and everyone was ready for breakfast.
We had had a very nice weekend. I missed the fantastic music, silent auction and decorations at the Home for Hounds Howl O'Ween Bash for Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary on Thursday. Courtney Cotner organized everything - we sold out and did very well for our dogs! Thank you, Courtney - she is already planning the second annual bash for next year. Thanks to the Ivas John band and others who played on behalf of our dogs, jamming till almost midnight.
Saturday, Lady Bug and I were at Stacy Busch's Howl O'Ween Party for her store, Busch Pet Products. Jacki Glastetter had a great set up for photos; many dogs came in costume for the contest, Melanie Coy had Tori there so we could Kiss a Bull for a Buck. Tori is the sweetest, slowest Pit Bull I have ever seen. She obviously believes in energy conservation - hers. Safe Harbor had a booth along with Silverwalk and Melanie for her Bootheelers Prison Dog Program. YESH.
Next Saturday at the Arena Park 4-H building is Petstock. See my previous post for more information.
Since I was up at 5, I ended up in a very nice nap with Todd and Seymour on my lap about 4:30 PM. Texted my lesson for the evening I would not be there, slacker, but see them next week. Ahhh - now more things to do this evening and up again early in the morning. Have a great day!
