Stress Buster

I came home from work this morning to twenty dogs. Dino is back at Silverwalk, having hoped to be adopted on Saturday but the couple needs to think. Wise. Look around. Consider your true lifestyle. Consider your household and other pets. No matter from where one adopts, a life is saved.
I am always a bit out of it on Mondays since I never get enough sleep on the weekends. It was nice to sit down and zone out, not in front of a TV or computer, but with fluffy Sheila Sheltie, brush in hand, to brush her, watch HER zone out and gently let any stress relax before facing the real day. Other dogs kept trying to literally nose in but I focused on Sheila; they got the hint and went away - though my glasses were smudged and my face half "washed." Even if I tried to pet someone else, Sheila would place a paw reminding me this was her time. She is a princess, you know. A few years ago, she rode in a wagon at the SEMO Greek Games. One of the most delightful visions is watching Sheila walk through somewhat grown grass - it looks like she is floating with all her long fur rippling above the curved stems of grass.
Sheila Sheltie, in the sun. She prefers cool floors and fans....
In the sturm und drang of daily life here, Sheila sometimes loses out on time to those needing more attention. She is not for adoption as she is adopted. She was a puppy mill momma till she was 10 years old. She has been with me for several years now, has a small heart condition but is doing well. She holds her own with everyone else, can still have her shy days and loves, loves to be brushed and petted, as a Princess should....
