Bobbie blogs about dogs as she lives with mostly hounds. While no longer rescuing, she maintains Silverwalk Hounds Sanctuary for the remaining Sanctuary dogs as well as occasional fosters. She enjoys talking about dogs, including rescue, fostering and adoption.

Happy Birthday, Margie - Mutt puppy,

dumpster diver

Last year in September, Margie came to live at Silverwalk after being saved from a dumpster. I have no clue when she was born so have chosen the Summer Solstice, June 21, for her birthday - I won't forget it! She is officially one year old today, though I didn't get her till September, 2009, just before my birthday. On behalf of Margie, saved from dying in an enclosed dumpster and sent to Silverwalk for "adoption" - HA - please, speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, be they canine, feline or human; particularly during this week as a present to Margie, commit to a random act of kindness daily, tell those you love that you DO love them and remember, you are blessed, even when you feel you are in a dumpster.

Guilty. After that month, when I informed the staff at my vet Margie was going to be MY puppy, Erin went "YES! I knew it!" Shoot, they knew before I did :).
