Foster vs Home: Merry Christmas to All
Talk about good news and bad news. Both are the same in regards to Cindy Lou Who. Cindy had been approved for and planned on a foster home for the holidays ala "A Dog named Christmas." Good news for her foster parent, A. However, Cindy proved to be charming to more than one person and was adopted yesterday to her forever home. Indeed, good news for her and bad news for A. :(. Silverwalk has other dogs needing fostering (please check out the Good Times section of this Sunday's paper) so hopefully, A. will be able to choose a different dog with whom to spend the holidays. As for myself, I had always said Cindy was one of those dogs who I would not at all mind if she never was adopted - she is that sweet and adorable.
I think we have a Safe Harbor dog adopted, too. I was at Petco this afternoon on behalf of Safe Harbor with Sofie, a little dog looking for a new home. She had many admirers, at least two of whom took home adoption applications. So, hopefully by Monday, another dog will have a home, too. Sofie had one but her mom can no longer care for her due to health reasons. She loves the cats at Safe Harbor.
Petco had Santa with pets photos today as well as a week ago. What a hoot to watch! Some were much more cooperative than others. Caruthersville Humane Society, who was doing the Santa photos, donated a photo of Sofie with Santa to her new adoptive parents. Thank you. And Merry Christmas to all!
