Sharing the Thanks Giving....Holiday Dogs
I hope we are all still giving thanks. One thing I have noticed during this time of recession is people verbally, in print, online and on air, moving from appreciating what they have to what is most important in their lives and the lives of others - especially others they feel moved to help.
This coming Sunday evening a Hallmark movie will be shown on CBS, KFVS12 - I don't know the time. I love these movies both for themselves and for the commercials. Sunday's speaks right to hearts of myself and many of us in rescue and the efforts to better the lives of animals. It is "A Dog Named Christmas." I read the book a year or two ago. Please watch it. There are muliple shelters on Petfinder.com signed up to offer people the chance to foster a dog for a pre-determined amount of time over the holiday season or when it is more convenient. Dogs and cats will have a chance to learn different ways to be loved in new famiies, then return to their shelter/rescue. Maybe :). Adoptions are not expected....the chance to give a dog or cat the taste of home life most certainly is. Silverwalk Beagle & Hound Sanctuary is one of the rescues signed up for short term fostering - letting you give joy and love to a dog in need. Feel free to email me....before or after the movie. I need to find a TV.....
