Tour de Dog, er, Missouri
Wow. I was just informed the Tour of Missouri bike race will be coming past my house on Sept. 8, the day after Labor Day. What a sight it will be - all those cyclists zooming down the hill past the dogs.....omgoodness, yep, the dogs. They will go CRAZY at those many cyclists - even the dogs who don't bark at moving objects will support the pack on this day, I am sure. Plus there are at least two who would want to be out with the peloton as it passes by. Hmmm....this will be on a day I am working, so feeding about 2 PM, then leaving dogs in their crates or in the house till "my" portion of the race is over may be the best bet. It will still be noisy, but no one will bother the cyclists - and I will enjoy the view from my front porch.
So, this is the point of this entry: prepare your dogs, cats, whoever you have for the Tour - especially should it be coming past your house. I do not want to be one who causes a cyclist to crash because I hadn't put up my dogs or to have them so distracted by the BAYS and BARKS, they lose control. Enjoy this special opportunity we have here in Cape this year - and support the cyclists and their years of training by paying attn to the preparations and the routes to and through Cape.
It is only one week away! I can't believe it :).
