Southeast football

After a three-game losing streak, the Southeast Missouri State University football team rebounded Saturday with a 48-27 road victory over Austin Peay.

The Redhawks (3-5, 2-3 OVC) have had their share of challenges this year, including the season-ending injury to quarterback Kyle Snyder. But there have been some positives, including the collegiate debut of redshirt freshman quarterback Scott Lathrop, who has done an admirable job leading the offense.

With only three games remaining the team still hopes to end with a winning record. That challenge continues tomorrow with the team's final home game, which starts at 1 p.m. at Houck Stadium. It's also senior day for the team's 23 players who will play in their final home game at Southeast.

We hope you consider heading out to the game to cheer on the Redhawks.
