NRA files lawsuit

As far back as 2007 AK-47 assault weapons have been flowing across the border to the Mexican drug cartels. When Operation Fast And Furious went sour, the NRA saw it as an excellent opportunity to blame all the past sales to Mexican cartels on the attorney general and convince their friends in Congress to find him in contempt.

In May 2012, Attorney General Holder and the Obama administration imposed a new federal regulation to stop the flow of AK-47 assault weapons across the border. It requires all gun merchants in Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas to report anyone buying more than one assault weapon. The attorney general feels the measure will stop the flow of AK-47s from the United States to Mexico.

Now, according to The New York Times, the NRA, which is violently opposed to the measure, has filed a lawsuit in the federal district court barring the enforcement of the rule. According to Wayne LaPierre, vice president of the gun rights group, the "NRA will fight them all the way."

It is obvious that the NRA does not want to stop the flow of assault weapons to the Mexican drug cartels. Assault weapons are big business. U.S. citizens should realize that when they join the NRA they are promoting the sale of assault weapons that murder innocent people and increase the flow of drugs into the United States.

Recent NRA contributions include: $432,288 to Republicans for re-election and $43,450 for Democrats, for a 12-year total of $2.9 billion.
