Rep. Emerson's voting record. Is it true?

So what I am hearing, Bob, is that if you are elected you will vote exactly how some angry stuffed shirt sitting in some ivory tower in Washington DC tells you to vote rather than listen to the people of the Eighth District of MISSOURI.

I don't put much faith in anyone's "voter scorecards." I can make up my own daggum mind, thank you very much. I don't know Heritage Action from my second cousin, and I don't care to let them decide what's best for me, either.

You can say what you want about Ms. Emerson, but she is thoughtful, and she doesn't let anyone push her around.

You're whacked out if you think Jo Ann is thoughtful. Her sole criterion for whether or not she votes for something is if it costs the taxpayer money. Not letting anyone tell you what to do is a terrible virtue for someone who is so consistently wrong.

She is the epitome of Washington. You can think what you want of her, but you can't like her and be any kind of conservative.

I have 2 questions for Mr Parker, this so-called conservative: Will he endorse and support the Republican nominee, even if its Mitt Romney? If he can support Romney, the father of Obamacare, then how can he be a true conservative? I assume, without knowing that he supports Ron Paul, the only true conservative in the race.

I guess Mr Parker is waiting for orders from the Heritage Foundation before he answers my simple questions. By the way, what is conservative about opposing funding for our troops?

Mrs. Emerson is masterful in directing redistributed wealth--you will recall that the federal government creates no true wealth--to those who will vote for her.

Remember what wise Gouverneur* Morris of PA said, while the Constitution was being framed: "Do not give the poor people the vote, for they will only sell it to the rich." Now "the rich" are the members of the federal government, who are purchasing the votes of the people who are tempted--isn't it evil for a government to tempt its people?--with redistributed money from OTHERS, or worse, with fresh fiat currency, printed from thin air. I have never heard Mrs. Emerson address anything as substantive as this issue, and Mr. Parker understands very well the horrible situation our land and people are in because of the unconstitutional spending.

*Not a typo. He served in the Revolutionary War, and was a delegate to the Constitutional Convention from PA.

When did it become necessary to take a litmus test about how you might cast your PRIVATE vote in a PRIVATE voting booth for a federal executive, when you are running for a federal legislative seat?

Do you support the union's card check schemes, which rob employees of their secret ballot in unionization deliberations?

If Ms. Emerson cares so deeply about our troops, why isn't she trying to get them out of the decade long quagmire in Afghanistan? I would think returning them home--rather than lining the pockets of a military contractor pushing the latest body armor--and sparing their lives and limbs would be true compassion for the troops.

Ahh, so Mr. Parker would follow national political party interests rather than Southeast Missouri interests as Mrs. Emerson has done for us. I imagine it takes tough skin to go against the party grain in D.C. and Emerson does it with grace.

No, my point was that the levee shouldn't have been blown up in the first place. A simple survey could have shown if the height of the levee would endanger towns downriver when they built it the first time. Build it, blow it up, re-build it,, how many times are we going to go around this circle at the taxpayer's expense?

I'd be more concerned about how the voters in Mississippi and New Madrid counties appreciated their land being flooded and their homes destroyed with Emerson's approval. People in Cairo don't get to vote for her.

And I still haven't seen any of the Emerson people commenting on those votes listed above.

Also, I do not speak for Bob. My opinions are mine alone. That's why we need a debate, so the voters can find out the views of each candidate directly from the candidates.

Jo Ann has always supported the Republican nominee for President. MR Parker's history is to take his ball and go home if his preference does not win. Jo Ann always opposed the Obamacare bill. In March '09 a bill had not even been proposed..

Did Mrs. Emerson tell you how she voted in the last presidential election? How do you know who she supported? Do you believe in private ballots or not? Do you insist on a litmus test or not?

Which is more important: the party label, or the ideas? If a Republican believes in socialism, such as redistribution of wealth schemes, or in violations of the Constitution (? where is levee building listed in Article I, Section 8???), do you back them because of their party label? That doesn't seem to be working out very well, now, does it?

Liberty and the Constitution have received very rough treatment under Republican as well as Democrat management. Should this continue, as long as our "team" is winning? Do you realize that the U.S. Federal Reserve is bailing out the European Central Bank? (WSJ 12/28/11) The Fed is just fine, thank you very much, with many Republican candidates: in one debate many of them gave lip service to firing Ben Bernanke, but not to ending the fed. Do you want a "Republican" president who thinks we can let the banking cabal controlling the fiat currency?

So you support a litmus test for the federal legislature, revealing who they support for president. I would think that would greatly threaten the separation of powers. Didn't the founders think the executive, legislative, and judiciary should have their powers separated?

Consolidation of power is dangerous. Imagine a federal legislature bending to the will of the executive! We can see how that is working, when we study how many things the POTUS enacts with executive order, which effectively recreates the same situation.

Why won't Mrs. Emerson sign on, with 196 other Congressional co-sponsors, to the Audit the Fed bill? Why is she silent on this issue? Does she think we're stupid? Why won't she justify the secrecy at the Fed? Is she happy with the bailouts (with money we don't even have) of large domestic and foreign banks? Does she like the currency swaps between the Fed and the European Central Bank and the Bank of Japan? Does she care about the admonition in Article I, Section 8, for Congress to "coin money and regulate the Value thereof?" This was not to be delegated away to an opaque, unaccountable, unelected, secret central bank. The Founders recognized that the people would be shackled to the medium of exchange, and that there must be representation in its valuation.

I support candidates that follow and support the U.S. Constitution. I think everyone should too. That would solve most of our problems. It is easy to tell the voting record of Rep. Emerson in no way bothers some people. That is a problem.

This is what I like about true constitutional conservatives, they vote on principal. Hard for many people to understand. I can come up with a list of Emerson votes as long as your leg that are un-constitutional or socialist and it doesn't matter.

I say to those that don't care about this record to continue to vote for Emerson or your favorite Democrat. I know I can't get all the votes, I just need to carve out 16% more of the primary vote to my side and we win. I predict if a poll were taken right now in the 8th district I would be within just a few points of Emerson or even better. I would call it 45% to 55% right now or close to it.

Emerson knows this, that is why she is attacking me and calling me a liar but refuses to say what I have lied about. This is a tactic used by people that are desperate and have nowhere else to go. I continue to expose her for what she is, a Republican in name only for the most part. A true conservative does NOT make these votes and people know it. I guess as long as she supports the nominee, that is fine with many?

The reason many people attack is they know I will come very close this time and it is within reason that I can beat Emerson in the primary. I predict I will and will work as hard as I can to make that happen.

No one has ever done what my supporters and I have done. No one has ever had this kind of support in the primary against Emerson and no one has ever run twice against Emerson. I just keep coming. I stay on facts and on the issues and that is what I will continue to do. I will continue to educate voters about the Emerson record and about my conservative/constitutional solutions. I am pro life, support the second amendment, support free market solutions, we must stop Obamacare, cut regulations, energy independence, fiscal responsibility, and a strong national defense.

We need a debate. Maybe we could debate the value of a debate that Emerson refuses to have?

Bob, if you're so pro-life why did Jo Ann get the Missouri Right to Life endorsement last time you ran against her? Also, if you're so pro-gun rights, why did she get the NRA endorsement? Also, there is a flier floating around that shows where you said that the Armored Personnel Carriers at DRS in West Plains were actually anti-riot tanks sent to the Ozarks to put down some sort of riot. Care to explain that? Seems like you were loose with the facts on that one.

One of the up hill battles for a newcomer challenging a 15 year incumbent is that he has no political voting record. But then that is the case with everyone in politics at one point. I would guess that Emerson did some sort of favor for the MO Right to Lifers for them to turn a blind eye on her 'yes' vote on stem cell research.

While she does have a pretty good record on gun rights, which is why I used to vote for her all the time, the NRA endorsement isn't what it used to be since LaPierre started actually writing gun control laws with the "veteran's disarmament" bill a few years back.

MS Emerson-Gladney, however, DOES have a voting record.

Those librarians may need a map and compass to find the 8th district,(most easterners would), but it's a pretty safe bet they know how MS Emerson voted.

Bob is not electable as the last election proved. Garner influence with Jo Ann or be left in the realm of irrelevency!! Enough said!!! Bob will not be able to raise near what he did last election and his voter percentage will be much smaller. Bob's ability to attack and antagonize his own potential voting base will be his ultimate downfall. National Right to Life and Missouri Right to Life sold us out by endorsing Emerson. They decided that they would "forgive" any vote over two years old. I told Pam Fichter, the head of Missouri Right to life that their endorsment is pretty much meaningless to me now. They follow the money. So much is corrupt anymore. If you like Jo Ann keep voting for her. If you like big government she is your gal.
