Trinity Lutheran School 5th Grade Skype St. Lorenz Lutheran School

Mrs. Ward's Fifth Grade class at Trinity Lutheran School, Cape use Skype to visit with St. Lorenz Lutheran School, Frankenmuth, Michigan during National Lutheran Schools Week.

March 7-13 is National Lutheran Schools Week. Students in Mrs. Ward's fifth grade class at Trinity Lutheran School in Cape celebrated by visiting another fifth grade class at St. Lorenz Lutheran School in Frankenmuth, Michigan. With the help of SKYPE, students were able to communicate using webcam. Both classes prepared a set of questions to ask and discussed everything from the weather to subjects they are studying in class. Trinity Lutheran students learned that they had many things in common with St. Lorenz students. Both schools participate in Faith Families, where classes in different grades get together once a month for different activities, and chapel. Trinity students found it interesting that St. Lorenz students do not wear school uniforms and that it must snow at least 6" before there is a snow day in Frankenmuth. When asked how they felt about being able to visit another school, Trinity students said it felt "weird". They really enjoyed being able to see as well as talk to students in another lutheran school far away. Both Trinity and St. Lorenz said they hope to visit again before the end of the school year.
