Enjoying Winter's Wonders

The last weekend of January brought a blanket of glistening, powdery, snow to our area of the Heartland. While opinions may vary widely as to feelings about this event, my fiancee and i were fortunate enough to be off work and enjoyed it immensely. I grew up in the South where snow is a novelty and so i enjoyed everything--except, maybe the cold(ha). I watched fascinated as the white, fine particles descended lightly and gradually built up steam. Though blown by the wind, the tiny crystals in time covered all with a blanket of white. I thought it was so beautiful and decide to enjoy its' coming and experience it before its' going. I took pictures to remember some of my favorite moments of this 'Winter Wonderland". Being a Cardinals fan now, our snowman had to be St. Louiee Rudy. My puppy, Maggie, enjoyed leaving tracks in her 1st real snow. Cardinals were also present at the bird feeder for a little hard-to-find nourishment. Snowballs were thrown and we enoyed playing in the soft powder. We enjoyed walking in the brisk air and observing the beauty. 2010's 1st major snow(and hopefully, last for some i know ha) was a memorable event for me revealing Nature's beauty and God's wonder.
