Ever wonder what happens when someone at the State Capitol falls ill or is injured. There is a physician on call at the Capitol every day its members are in session. Local physician Robb R. Hicks, M.D., of Immediate HealthCare, with offices in both Perryville and Cape Girardeau, recently travelled to Jefferson City to serve as the Physican of the Day at the Capitol. Dr. Hicks was on call for any medical needs the House and Senate members may have had, as well as any emergencies their staff or the visiting public may have experienced. Other local physicians that served as the Physician of the Day this year include orthopedist Brian Shaffer, M.D., from Cape Giradeau.
