Belief in Christ is path to salvation

To the editor:

Someone said in a Speak Out comment that he bypassed Jesus and the church and wondered which church is God's.

To bypass Jesus and not accept the entire Bible as the truth is a great mistake. The Bible says, "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."

All Scripture, both the old and new testaments, refer to Christ Jesus, who was foretold to come and came in the appointed time. Christ says, "I am the way, the truth and the light. No one comes to the father but by me."

Any church that denies the infallibility of Scripture and denies that Christ is the only savior is a false church.

Scripture also says, "There is not a just many upon earth that does good and sinneth not." And, "All our righteousness is as filthy rags."

Jesus Christ died on the cross, rose from the dead and fully atoned for all our sins. By faith in Christ -- and in him alone -- comes forgiveness of all our sins. Such righteousness also will produce God-pleasing good works.
