Wednesday, November 28, 2012

The Salvation Army Thrift Store on Morgan Oak Street will be closing temporarily Friday as the organization seeks a new location, according to Maj. Ben Stillwell. Stillwell said he hopes to find a new location and reopen at the first of the year. Proceeds from the thrift store help fund the organization's operations. The Salvation Army has raised $104,777 during its holiday campaign to date, which is 32 percent of the fundraising goal. The Salvation Army served 1,575 meals on Thanksgiving and have 300 coats remaining for families in need. For more information, contact the Salvation Army at 335-6690.
