Art educators second annual exhibit is open

The Second Annual Art Show of Cape Public Schools Art Educators opened during the Cape Art Walk at the Black Door Gallery at 124 S. Spanish. Two new teachers joined the faculty this year-- Holly Cochrane of Blanchard and Clippard Elementary Schools is displaying a porcelain landscape and some functional landscape cups and bowls, and Carlynn Forst of Cape Central High School is showing three mixed-media sculptural works with found objects. Lawrence Brookins of Alternative Education Center is exhibiting an acrylic and a watercolor painting. Sculpture Teacher Robert Friedrich of Cape Central High School has three sculptures from various types of wood and found objects. Kim Holman of Franklin and Clippard Elementary Schools shared her batiks. Donna Richardet of Cape Central Middle School has a weaving and two macramé pieces. Andrea Schneider of Jefferson and Alma Schrader displayed three acrylic paintings. Elizabeth Thomas of Cape Central High School constructed three pop art shadow boxes. Helen Towner of Cottonwood Treatment Center has a photograph and two colored pencil drawings. Sharon Williams of Alma Schrader created two block prints and an acrylic painting of her granddaughter. Dennis Wilson of Central Junior High School displayed urban art. Pictured above are Black Door Gallery owners Craig and Elizabeth Thomas.
