Kohl's Donates to Youth Diabetes Program

Kohl's Department Store in Cape Girardeau recently donated $20,090 to the Kohl's Youth Diabetes Care Network, a service of Southeast Diabetes Center. At the check presentation, from left, are Southeast endocrinologist Wu Wen, MD, PhD; registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator Mary Etta Dunaway, RD, LD, CDE; Mary Burton-Hitt, executive director of the SoutheastHEALTH Foundation; Kohl's store manager David Bortner; Kohl's sales associate Margaret Fields; and registered nurse and certified diabetes educator Janet Stewart, MSA, BSN, RNC, CDE. Kohl's commitment to Southeast Hospital is made possible through the Kohl's Cares® cause merchandise program. Through this initiative, Kohl's sells $5 books, plush toys and other merchandise. One hundred percent of the net profit benefits children's health and education programs nationwide, including the partnership with Southeast Hospital.
