Decisions. High school students are faced with choices throughout their school careers, but one of the most important decisions that seniors can make is answering the question, "So what do I do after high school?"

Shawnee Community College makes that decision easy. From vocational certificates designed to prepare students for immediate employment to degree plans designed to make the most of transferring to a university, the advisors at SCC can assist students choose the best option. Classes are available through traditional classroom settings, interactive video, and via the internet.

Registration is now open for both the summer and fall semesters. Summer registration continues through the first day of classes, Monday, June 7th. The fall semester instruction begins Wednesday, August 18th, with registration closing on August 19th.

Director of Admissions Dee Blakley recommends that students call or stop by the admissions desk at the main campus or any of the extension centers in Cairo, Metropolis, or Anna to make an appointment to meet with an advisor. Students who meet certain criteria can enroll online using the Saints Online website. Both returning and new students should make advisement and registration appointments as soon as possible.

SCC enrollment management plan has several payment options. Students must make financial arrangements to secure spots in classes and save their seat. Payment options include securing financial aid such as scholarships, grant funding or through other funding agencies; self-pay through the online e-cashier, pay in full at the bursar's office with cash, check or credit card, or at one of the extension centers by cash or check.

When meeting with SCC advisors, students can expect guidance in planning their program of study and class schedules.
