Sixth Grader Wins Southeast Missouri State University Writing Achievement Award

Brooke Hogard, daughter of Kerry and Dana Hogard and sixth grade student at Perry County Middle School, has been awarded first place in the 2009 Southeast Missouri State University Writing Achievement Award. Brooke is a student in Tammy Sadler's communication arts class. Her entry, "Essence's Ways," won in the fiction category for grades 4-6. Brooke will be recognized for her achievement on Saturday, April 17 at the Southeast Missouri State University campus.
