To "the_eye": It is not hypocritical to use Medicare when you have had money taken from your paycheck throughout your entire life to be used for this very purpose. They paid for it, so it is only fair that they use it. What IS hypocritical is our government trying to tell us we should use one healthcare system while they use another! Our government has taken money from our paychecks and put into the Social Security/Medicare system telling us it would be available when we retire. Now, we are being told that the system is broke? What are my parents supposed to do now? What happened to all the money? Every program that the government has run has been mismanaged and is broken! Now, they expect us to let them have more of not only our money, but our children and grandchildren's money to pay for this new healthcare system. NO THANKS!

Seniors will have their Medicare cut by $500 billion dollars...Healthcare for seniors will be rationed or out-right denied by the new health czar authorized in this bill. A second part of the big lie is that McCaskill Reid Pelosi and Obama intend for this to help health care the uninsured or our economy...just the opposite... they are out to destroy our free market based economy, and take over all segments of our economy. George Bush was the last President to take money out of the social security funds, so he could pay for his war. He was a republican, in case you forgot.

The fact is that George W. Bush has presided over the largest expansion of government since Lyndon Johnson, who was no piker. Spending under Bush doubled the national debt to $10 trillion (which doesn't count such things as the unfunded liabilities of Social Security and Medicare). His veto pen was not to be seen for most of his administration. All kinds of spending soared, including domestic discretionary spending. "Entitlements" are out of control, helped along by Bush's prescription-drug add-on to Medicare. Of course his occupation of Iraq costs $10 billion month.

I agree with the majority of what Mr. Adams has to say and I don't think you can argue against his original point. No matter what side of the fence your on, I think it showed Clair McCaskill's true class (or rather lack thereof) to meet with the people she works for. I hope everyone takes this into consideration when they see her name on the ballot.
