Bush right on war, Social Security

To the editor:

A recent Speak Out comment basked President bush on the Iraq war and Social Security. The person who made the comment has to be a member of the "gimme" generation, someone drawing Social Security or getting ready to.

Bush's proposal for partial privitization is the same system federal legislators are in. If it's good enough for them, then why not us?

If you're 55 or older, nothing changes. And anyone younger can choose to stay in the system.

The person who made the comment probably thinks it's OK for the government to take my money by force to buy his prescription drugs. It's my money. The government has no money unless it takes it from us.

Regarding the war, Saddam Hussein caused it by invading Kuwait in 1991. The first President Bush led us into war for good reason: protecting the flow of oil to the entire world. The current president resumed hostilities after Saddam defied 17 U.N. resolutions over 12 years.

As for as eating my words for voting for Bush, I say thank God John Kerry didn't win, or we might all be learning to practice Islam against our will.

I think people should have to pass an IQ test on the Constitution before they are allowed to vote.
