Jackson girl wins title

Local Pre-Teen America Scholarship and Recognition Program winner Sophie Park, 9, left, of Jackson, was the winner of the recent 2007 Pre-Teen Missouri Scholarship and Recognition Program, junior category. Beside her, from left, was first runner-up Rachael Rose Koehler, 8, of Jackson; second runner-up Briann Christine Evans, 9, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; third-runner up Madison TenEyck, 9, of Lewistown, Mo.; and fourth-runner up Lourie Anne Johnson, 9, of Grand Pass, Mo. Sophie, a St. Paul Lutheran student, also won first place in the speech competition and second place in the talent competition. Her sister, Camille, won the spirit award. Both girls will attend the 2008 Pre-Teen America Nationals in July.
