Speeding motorist kills neighbor's dog

To the editor:

About 8:30 p.m. July 7, someone murdered my neighbor's dog. He could have been a child. A motorist came down the hill from Highway 177 on County Road 657 so fast -- way over the posted 25-mph speed limit. There are several speed-limit signs on our small road and signs saying there are children and animals. The motorists didn't even stop after murdering the dog. Does he care? Does he know? My neighbors are grieving the dog's loss as are we all. He could have been a child.
