Letter to the Editor

Bush hasn't made good case for Iraq attack

To the editor:

In response to the letter "Let's not rush into deadly war with the Iraqis": I agree with many other Americans who do not want to go to war with Iraq. It is not feasible, and there is no proof that Saddam Hussein has the capability of doing the United States any harm.

This is not a war that will help the economy here or abroad. This is a war of a personal nature that George Bush is fooling the American people with. Bush is not going to put one foot in Iraq, but he is willing to send thousands of our troops over there to fight for him. He wants to rub out Saddam Hussein, not caring about who he has to use or kill to do it.

We have so many problems in this country to worry about right now: homeless, jobless, discrimination, health care for seniors, CEOs robbing employees of their pension funds. But nobody in the Republican administration is talking about that. All they are doing is giving Bush a blank check and access to destroy lives.

Americans should protest in the streets and make sure that we are heard in the White House. If we attack Iraq, all the diehard terrorists who already hate the United States will come out of the woodwork. You reap what you sow.
