It's time to celebrate Homecoming at SEMO

Homecoming in Cape Girardeau is like no other time of the year. There's a crispness to the air. People are excited to celebrate the presence of a four-year state university in their hometown.

Others return to share memories of their years at Southeast Missouri State University and catch up on their old friends' lives.

Sororities and fraternities paint downtown business windows, bringing art and whimsy to the neighborhood.

At 9:30 a.m. today, the Homecoming Parade will roll down Broadway with sororities, fraternities and other student groups showing off complicated and artistic floats that are sure to be crowd pleasers.

There are tailgate parties and then the big game against Eastern Illinois University. The Indians are going in with a 5-2 record, their best in years, and the game is sure to be an exciting one. If you can go to the game, the Indians would enjoy your support.

Good luck, Indians, and may everyone have another safe, fun time this year.
