Police arrest two linked to killing of British girls

LONDON -- A drama that has gripped Britain took a chilling turn Saturday, as police arrested two people, reportedly school employees, on suspicion of murdering a pair of 10-year-old girls who vanished from a rural village.
Detectives had said only the night before that they remained optimistic Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman were still alive, but their use of the word "murder" in the arrests shattered the hopes of those in the children's close-knit hometown of Soham, near Cambridge.
Police later said they had found two bodies in a wooded area called Thetford Forest Park, 20 miles from Soham, but said it would take time to identify them.
The bodies were discovered by a man on a walk.
