State Rep. Jason Crowell, R-Cape Girardeau, has been awarded the Missouri Association for Career and Technical Education Legislative Recognition Award for 2002. The organization is a statewide organization of career and technical educators.

Crowell received the award during the Missouri ACTE's 33rd Annual Joint Summer Workshops and Conference held in Springfield, Mo., where he addressed the 3,000 member educators and spoke on the importance of an educational system which includes career and technical education opportunities for students.

"I was very pleased to see that Jason got the recognition from Missouri ACTE that he deserves," said Rich Payne, director of Cape Girardeau's Career and Technology Center. "ACTE made a great choice."
