Dr. George Davault, 77, of Richmond, Mo., died Wednesday, June 19, 2002, at his home.
He was born Dec. 28, 1924, in Allenville, Mo., son of Webster W. and Anna Jenkins Davault. He and Jean Russell of Cape Girardeau were married May 28, 1948.
Davault received an A.B. degree from Southeast Missouri State University, B.S. in medicine from the University of Missouri at Columbia, and medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. He attended a semester at the University of Shrivenham, England.
He practiced medicine in Richmond from 1953-89. He served on the Richmond School Board, Rotary Club, and Ray County Memorial Hospital staff. He was a member of Lafayette-Ray County Medical Society, and Richmond VFW Post 4398.
Davault was a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division in Europe during World War II. He was in the Battle of the Bulge.
Survivors include a son, Paul Davault of Circleville, Kan.; a daughter, Mary Davault of Houston, Texas; a brother, Hughes Davault of Jackson, Mo.; a granddaughter; two stepgrandchildren; and three great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Richmond.
Friends may call at the church after 4 p.m. Saturday.
