Painting of lighted Emerson bridge unveiled
Wednesday, May 29, 2002
Bill Emerson's mother loves "Eastern Access," the new painting of the bridge that will bear her son's name when it opens for traffic across the Mississippi River at the end of 2003 or early in 2004. Marie Emerson Hahn was one of about 90 people present Wednesday morning for the unveiling of the painting at Indigo restaurant in downtown Cape Girardeau. The limited edition prints are being sold to benefit a fund that will help buy lighting for the bridge. For more on this story, read Thursday's Southeast Missourian.
