Jackson blanks St. Vincent in shortened game

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Jackson's Courtney Urhahn and Dana Wright scored in the first half before rain washed out most of the second half of its 2-0 soccer win Tuesday over St. Vincent.

The game was stopped four minutes into the second half.

Whitney Dietl and Urhahn had assists. Whitney Werner had the shutout.

ST. PETERS, Mo. -- Senior Lindsay Kuper improved her state-qualifying time in the 200 meter freestyle by 0.06 seconds in a dual meet loss.

Jessica Ducharme, Janelle Essner and the 400 freestyle relay team also won events for Notre Dame (4-9).

BERNIE, Mo. -- Leopold (5-3) posted its fifth straight victory after only six innings were completed because of rain.

A.J. Seiler pitched a nine-hitter, with six strikeouts and three walks. Mike Vandeven and Scott VanGennip each had two hits for the Wildcats. Vandeven drove in two runs.
