Area school classifications

Where Southeast Missouri schools are going for the next two school years, according to assignments from the Missouri High School Activities Association on Wednesday. A new class has been added to basketball, football and music, which led to redistribution of many teams.

Football*

  • CLASS 6A (new): None.

  • CLASS 5A: Jackson.

  • CLASS 4A: Cape Girardeau Central, Poplar Bluff, Sikeston, Perryvlile, Farmington, North County.

  • CLASS 3A: Dexter, Fredericktown, Kennett, New Madrid Co. Central, Park Hills Central.

  • CLASS 2A: Caruthersville, Charleston, East Prairie, Malden, Portageville, Scott City.

  • CLASS 1A: Chaffee, Hayti, St. Vincent, Valle.

    Basketball, music

  • CLASS 5A (new): Cape Girardeau Central, Farmington, Jackson, Sikeston, Poplar Bluff.

  • CLASS 4A: Dexter, Ste. Genevieve, Doniphan, Fredericktown, Kennett, New Madrid County Central, North County, Perryville, Park Hills Central.

  • CLASS 3A: Charleston, Notre Dame, Caruthersville, Arcadia Valley, Clearwater, Kelly, Scott City, Twin Rivers, East Prairie, Malden, Portageville, Woodland, Bloomfield, West County, Greenville.

  • CLASS 2A: Hayti, Senath-Hornersville, Puxico, South Pemiscot, East Carter Co., Campbell, Neelyville, St. Vincent, Meadow Heights, Ellington, Chaffee, Van Buren, Advance, Caledonia Valley, Richland, Ste. Genevieve Valle, North Pemiscot, Holcomb, South Iron, Oran, Bernie.

  • CLASS 1A: Gideon, Naylor, Oak Ridge, Delta C-7, Clarkton, Delta, Scott County Central, Bell City, Cooter, Lesterville, Zalma, Leopold, Risco, Marquand.
