SIKESTON, Mo. -- Rudolph Joseph Wibbenmeyer, 87, of Sikeston died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 10, 1914, in Biehle, Mo., son of Theodore F. and Louisa E. Meyer Wibbenmeyer.
He and Virginia G. Ponder were married June 3, 1946, in Apple Creek, Mo. She died Sept. 12, 2001.
Wibbenmeyer was a route salesman for 15 years with Locke Distributing Company of Cape Girardeau and had also been a life insurance agent for Ozark National Life Insurance Co. He worked for several years for Terminix International until he retired in 1983.
A member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Wibbenmeyer was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3151 in Sikeston.
He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include three sons, Charles Wibbenmeyer of Fishers, Ind., Kenny Wibbenmeyer and Rickey Wibbenmeyer, both of Sikeston; two daughters, Joanie Wrather and Shirley McCall, both of Sikeston; two brothers, Joseph and Thomas Wibbenmeyer, both of Perryville, Mo.; two sisters, Luella Musso of Perryville and Flora Jansen of St. Louis; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with recitation of the rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with the Revs. Stephen Schneider and Jim Unterreiner officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
