Floyd Grissom

DEXTER, Mo. -- Floyd E. Grissom, 84, of Dexter died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at Missouri Southern Healthcare.

He was born Aug. 4, 1917, in Mount Pleasant, Ark., son of William Silas and Ollie Wolford Grissom. He and Clara Mabel McGuire were married Jan. 31, 1941, in Melbourne, Ark.

Grissom had been a custodian at Intertherm Heating and Cooling in St. Louis.

Survivors include two sons, William Grissom of Dexter, Donald Grissom of Cat Spring, Texas; a daughter, Pansy Dowden of Greenwood, Ind.; a sister, Rhea Melton of Wenatchee, Wash.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Karen Oldham officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
