SIKESTON, Mo. -- Gladys A. Boyd, 81, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, at her home.
She was born Sept. 25, 1920, in Clarksville, Ark., daughter of D.C. and Zella Vangilder Crone. She and Clyde Boyd were married Oct. 7, 1939, at Benton, Mo. He died April 30, 1991.
Boyd and her husband owned and operated Boyd's Upholstery in St. Louis, moving to Sikeston 25 years ago. She was a member of North Acres General Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Boyd of Buda, Texas; a brother, Mitchell Crone of Brighton, Ill.; three sisters, Louise Yates of Henderson, Ky., Mildred Tidwell of Fairview Heights, Ill., Regina Johnson of Sikeston; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel. The Rev. Steve Tippen will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
