Thelma Rose Halter, 92, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Nov. 7, 1909, at New Hamburg, Mo., daughter of Charles and Emma Schlitt Halter. She first married Clem Fornkohl in 1939. He died in 1947. She later married Alfred Halter Oct. 2, 1956, in Cape Girardeau. He died in 1983.
Mrs. Halter was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and its Council of Catholic Women, St. Francis Medical Center Auxiliary, and Friends of St. Francis.
Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Kay Huttegger of Cape Girardeau, JoAnn Oliver of Carbondale, Ill.; a brother, Leon Halter of Benton, Mo.; three grandchildren, Tammy Sellers and Pam Woodruff of Cape Girardeau, Brad Oliver of Carbondale; three great-grandchildren, Misti Lange, Chelsea Sellers and William Sellers, all of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Zeno and Otto Halter, and a granddaughter, Juli Huttegger.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cathedral. Msgr. Richard Rolwing will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
