St. Louis airport parking reopens

ST. LOUIS -- Officials at Lambert Airport have reopened garages at both the Main and East terminals to parking for all vehicles.

Following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, the airport banned sport utility vehicles, vans, and pickup trucks with camper shells from the terminal garages. The airport also closed some areas of the garages to all traffic; those areas remain off-limits.

To comply with Federal Aviation Administration security rules, officials will search all SUVs and the other vehicles previously prohibited from parking in the garages. Passenger cars remain subject to random searches.
