Koenig-Ahrens

JACKSON, Mo. -- Immanuel Lutheran Church in Jackson was the setting Aug. 4, 2001, for the wedding of Susan Ann Koenig and Larry Charles Ahrens. The Rev. Donald Reder and the Rev. David Mueller performed the double ring ceremony. Organist was Wanda Aufdenberg of Jackson, and soloist was Keith Koenig of Jackson, brother of the bride. The St. Paul Lutheran Church Choir in Fulton, Mo., also sang.

Parents of the couple are Elmer and Donna Koenig and Charles and Alice Ahrens, all of Jackson.

Maid of honor was Debbie Poese of Columbia, Mo. Bridesmaids were Jan Koenig of Jackson, sister-in-law of the bride, and Janet Roberts of St. Louis.

Bill Gholson of Jackson served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Keith Koenig of Jackson and David Coomer of Whitewater, Mo. Ushers were Gary Gholson, brother-in-law of the groom; Greg Gholson, nephew of the groom; Terry Ahrens, cousin of the groom, all of Jackson; and Richard Woodward of Shizuoka, Japan.

Candlelighters were David Gholson and Matthew Golden of Jackson, nephews of the groom. David is the son of Gary and Barbara Gholson. Matthew is the son of Steve and Cathy Golden.

Flower girl was Sara Gholson, daughter of Gary and Barbara Gholson and niece of the groom. Ringbearer was Jacob Koenig, son of Keith and Jan Koenig and nephew of the bride.

Rosemary Ward of Northern Ireland attended the guest book.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Servers were Cathy Golden and Barbara Gholson.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Aug. 3 at the KC Hall.

The bride is a graduate of Jackson High School, received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a master's degree from Northern Arizona University. She is a language arts instructor at Jackson High School.

The groom is a graduate of Jackson High School. He is a self-employed farmer.

The couple resides in Jackson.
