ST. LOUIS -- St. Louis forward Scott Mellanby could be sidelined up to six weeks with a fractured jaw suffered last week in an exhibition game against Nashville, the Blues said Saturday.
Mellanby is to undergo surgery Sunday to repair the jaw, fractured when he was hit by a puck early in the first period in a 2-0 victory Friday night over the Predators, the Blues said in a statement.
The Blues signed Mellanby to a new two-year contract in June.
