MINER, Mo. -- Funeral for William Milo "Bill" Cole of Miner will be held at 2 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, Mo. The Rev. Mitchell Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
Cole, 72, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Oct. 31, 1928, in Sikeston, son of William Floyd and Eva Lee Cole. He and Betty Walton were married Aug. 29, 1951. Cole was retired from farming. He was a member of Miner Baptist Church, Henry Meldrum American Legion Post 114 and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Sikeston. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Terry Cole of Miner; two daughters, Teresa DeWitt of Sikeston, Janet Lashmet of Springfield, Mo.; two brothers, Jimmy and Howard Cole of Sikeston; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
