The city council has approved the purchase of a state-of-the-art computerized system that will allow us to monitor our power plant more accurately and to identify the location of outages in a manner of minutes. This equipment will enable the city to identify an outage down to the block where it exists. Presently the city must go out and look for where a problem exists. This equipment will reduce the time the power may be off because of a storm or other reasons outside of our control. This new piece of equipment should be in place by early in the year 2000.
