LETTERS: ABORTION DOESN'T SAVE LIVES; IT KILLS

To the editor:

We have laws called truth in lending for those who want to investigate all of the facts before taking out a loan. There is truth in labeling so that we can improve the health of our bodies, once called a temple of God, by reading the labels on everything we purchase to eat. There are laws called truth in advertising so that large corporations and organizations can't fool us into purchasing dangerous or defective products. People are encouraged to get second opinions before making decisions regarding health risks involved in serious medical procedures. Twenty-five years ago we were told that if abortion were to be legalized, women would be protected when they went to a clean medical facility staffed by professional doctors and nurses using sterile equipment. There would be no more dead women, killed by backstreet butchers using filthy equipment. Since the legalization of abortion in the United States, a whole generation of children have been murdered -- over 35 million. I don't ever remember 35 million women succumbing to hemorrhages and infections caused by unsafe facilities. Slowly, the true agenda of the pro-choice people is being revealed. Not long ago an abortionist, one of the supposedly safe medical doctors, callously let one of his patients bleed to death after he pierced her uterus during a botched abortion. He left the facility and refused to return when his inexperienced staff members called him about the patient's condition. This was the second lady whom he had allowed to bleed to death. He was also accused of botching a late-term abortion, delivering a live, but injured baby. Over the years he had also been investigated by the Arizona Medical Board for using unsterile instruments. Finally the board decided he was a danger to the public and pulled his medical license. However, the same doctor still has his medical license to practice in another state. Now comes another case, this time a different doctor in a New Jersey clinic. This arrogant doctor admitted under oath in court that he and his staff defrauded five insurance companies by repeatedly reusing disposable medical instruments in his abortion practice. The government was able to satisfy the insurance companies by piecing together the facts, but for some odd reason investigators have not been able to learn anything about the women -- or should I say victims -- who went to this facility to have their safe and clean abortions. How many of these women have been exposed to AIDS? How many are dying and don't even know it?. How many are perhaps unknowingly passing this virus on to their significant others? How many are now sterile because of an infection they don't even know they may have gotten at this facility? It is about time that we all wake up to the fact that abortions are frequently not clean and safe and that the abortion industry does not want us to have a truth about abortions law. Abortionists don't want their industry to be regulated in any way. They don't make any effort to clean up their own act, and they furiously fight all efforts by legislators or medical boards to improve safety. Those who buy into their agenda are being foolish and they will not be protected by the government. Safe and legal is an empty slogan.
